How Long Does a Scuba Diving Course Take?
A typical entry-level scuba certification, like the Open Water Diver course, usually takes between three to four days to complete. The process is broken into three main parts: knowledge development, confined water training, and open water dives.
Knowledge development can often be done online before you arrive, saving you time. Confined water training usually happens in a pool or shallow, calm water where you learn and practice skills. Finally, you will complete four open water dives over at least two days. While some intensive programs can squeeze this into a long weekend, many students prefer a more relaxed schedule to absorb the information properly.
