I pair this transmitter directly with my SCUBAPRO Galileo HUD. In 97 dives, the wireless link between the tank pod and the computer has been completely flawless. I have never experienced a single signal dropout or delayed reading underwater, regardless of how my body or gear was positioned relative to the first stage.
Because trusting electronic pressure readings takes time, I continuously cross-checked the transmitter against my trusty TUSA SCA-360 analog console during my first few dozen dives. The numbers were spot-on every single time. At this point, I am entirely comfortable relying on the digital readout as my primary pressure source.
First Stage Clearance & Real-World Features
I screw the transmitter straight into the high-pressure port on my first stage. It’s not what I would call tiny or low-profile, but it stays out of the way and doesn’t interfere with low-pressure hose routing on either the MK25 EVO or the Atomic B2.
SCUBAPRO built a tri-color LED cap into the top of the transmitter that flashes green, yellow, or red based on tank pressure. Honestly? I completely forget that feature even exists. Direct sunlight easily washes out the light on boat decks, and once I am underwater, I am looking at my HUD or console anyways.
My biggest beef with dive gear tech applies directly here: brand lock-in. Every major manufacturer uses proprietary wireless signals, meaning this pod only talks to SCUBAPRO computers. If you decide to switch computer brands down the road, you are forced to buy an entirely new transmitter setup to keep wireless air integration.

Battery Life & Maintenance
Battery longevity on this transmitter is impressive. I run the unit on max LED brightness settings, and after 97 dives over the years, I am still on the original factory CR2 battery.
Out of pure caution, I am swapping the battery out before heading on an extended 10-day liveaboard trip to the Philippines later this year. I will drop a quick update on how smooth the user-replaceable O-ring and compartment swap is once I complete it.

If you already own a compatible SCUBAPRO computer like the HUD or G2, adding the Transmitter Smart + Pro is an absolute no-brainer. Having live pressure tracking right in your line of sight makes gas management seamless and lets you keep your bulky SPG tucked away.
While proprietary ecosystem lock-in is annoying, the dead-accurate readings and rock-solid connection stability make it worth every penny on active dive days.
