Fit, Comfort & Sizing Realities
Sizing is where you need to pay close attention. I picked up the size Small foot pockets. I wear a US men’s shoe size 6.5 to 7, and even though SCUBAPRO says these are supposed to be for size 5 and 6 feet, these pockets ran large on my bare feet. Because of that extra room, I experienced a bit of foot play inside the pocket while kicking.
Sliding a thin pair of neoprene socks on would have instantly locked down the fit and eliminated that slight wiggle. On the bright side, despite the loose fit, I suffered zero chafing, rubbing, or blisters. Getting them on and off on a crowded dive boat or while floating at the surface was effortless.
In-Water Performance & Modularity
Because the pocket was slightly oversized on my bare foot, power transfer to the blade was not quite as direct or crisp as my open-heel setup with boots. That said, it did not ruin my dives by any stretch. Whether doing standard flutter kicks or frog kicks through cenote swims, the fins still moved me through the water just fine.
The actual mechanical connection to the blade is top-tier. The interlocking joints and central socket plate lock down exactly like the standard open-heel pocket.
